PartnerSlate

Senior Product Manager / Director

About PartnerSlate:

PartnerSlate is an early-stage FoodTech startup creating a B2B marketplace to solve one of the biggest pain points for Food CPG Brands — finding the right manufacturer to physically produce their new product idea.

We are living in a golden age of Food choice. Food CPG is a $1 trillion+ industry in the US undergoing seismic changes and diversification in the past 10 years. Long-term consumer trends towards healthier eating (like keto and plant-based) and Direct to Consumer innovations have lowered the barriers to launching a product.

15,000 new food products launch every year, and each goes through a painful co-manufacturer search that takes 6-9 months on average. We’re building the platform that will cut the time to find and work with a manufacturer by 50% or more, and in the process revolutionize how food gets produced.

PartnerSlate is headquartered in San Francisco and led by Vince Tseng (SquareTrade founding team, $1.4B exit). It has raised $3.25M in seed funding from Mentors Fund and Pacific Fin Capital.

About the Role:

This is an opportunity to build an industry-changing company from the ground up. As one the first PMs, you’ll work side-by-side with the CEO to rapidly iterate on a greenfield product. You’ll be directly responsible for prototyping, mapping out user-flows, writing stories and generally performing mind-melds between the biz-folk and engineers.

As we zero in on our customers’ needs, you’ll take end-to-end ownership over one or more of our key product platforms, help articulate and flesh out our product strategy, and help build out a team of amazingly great PMs.

We’ll be a dispersed team, but with a center of gravity in San Francisco, with as needed in-person meetups. Comp will include competitive pay, substantial equity, and the usual benefits. Open to range of experience levels, from 4+ years to Director level.

To thrive in this role, you:

  • Describe yourself as resilient, humble, and intellectually curious.
  • Are described by others as a leader, mentor, and a team player.
  • Are highly analytical and think from first principles.
  • Are results-oriented and have a bias towards action.
  • Relish getting your hands dirty and working on stories directly with engineers.
  • Have 4+ years of track record delivering successful products, ideally within nimble B2B SaaS environments
  • Are US or CA Based, with appropriate work permissions, and able to be in San Francisco bi-monthly at a minimum.
  • Are excited to work in Food, B2B, or both!

The Team and Culture

This is not our first rodeo. We understand that innovation and moving fast can be done without chaos. Discipline and drive to achieve doesn’t mean unsustainable burnout. As part of the early team, you’ll help shape the culture of the company, centered around intellectual curiosity, pragmatic action, and collaborative attitudes.

We also care about making the world a better place! As an industry, food is one of the areas where we can help create a more sustainable future for the world.

Our vision for our workplace is clear: we will be a place where a diverse mix of talented people want to come, stay and do their best work. Diversity, equity and inclusion are fundamental to how we think about growing our team and working together as one. We are creating a respectful environment where we can learn from and celebrate each others’ differences.
