1. Be mentally ready to build.

PartnerSlate isn’t for “just exploring.” It’s for founders who are serious about launching. You’re stepping into production, not pitching ideas. If you’re not ready to move, you’re not ready for a manufacturer.

2. Be responsive, or bring someone who is.

Manufacturer conversations move fast. If you’re not available to respond quickly or hop on calls, let us take the lead. Fenomenal can manage the process for you and keep things moving.

3. Have your branding and packaging concepts ready.

You don’t need to have dielines finalized, but you do need to know what your product looks and feels like. If you haven’t nailed this down, it will delay the search — and turn off potential partners.

4. Know your numbers.

Production requires money. You’ll need funds ready for formulation, line time, samples, and startup costs. Don’t start the process without a budget in place.

5. Be open to different ways of working.

Every co-manufacturer runs differently. Your job is to find the best fit, not force someone into your ideal setup. Ask questions, stay curious, and be flexible.

6. Learn the basics of how manufacturing works.
