PartnerSlate

Senior Product Designer (b2b commerce)

Come help us design the SaaS platform that will run the food manufacturing industry of the future!

About PartnerSlate:

PartnerSlate is an early-stage FoodTech startup creating a B2B marketplace to solve one of the biggest pain points for Food CPG Brands — finding the right manufacturer to physically produce their new product idea.

We are living in a golden age of Food choice. Food CPG is a $1 trillion+ industry in the US undergoing seismic changes and diversification in the past 10 years. Long-term consumer trends towards healthier eating (like keto and plant-based) and Direct to Consumer innovations have lowered the barriers to launching a product.

15,000 new food products launch every year, and each goes through a painful co-manufacturer search that takes 6-9 months on average. We’re building the platform that will cut the time to find and work with a manufacturer by 50% or more, and in the process revolutionize how food gets produced.

PartnerSlate is headquartered in San Francisco and led by Vince Tseng (SquareTrade founding team, $1.4B exit). It has raised $3.25M in seed funding from Mentors Fund and Pacific Fin Capital.

About the Role:

As the first Product Designer, you’ll be responsible for crafting the UI/UX of an industry-changing SaaS platform. You’ll work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to build delightfully clear, functional, and extensible interfaces to help our customers, many of whom are first-time SaaS platform users, run their businesses better.

We are implementing the material.io design system, so you’ll need to bring plenty of experience and appreciation for building UX with design systems, not just bespoke.

You’ll work on projects like making our collaborative workspace glisten (like Basecamp), and designing onboarding interfaces for customers with complex projects (like Upwork). You’ll also help bring new ideas to life with wireframes and prototypes, then work with the team to get them ready for prime time.

At the end of the day, the durable experiences you’ve built will be used by our customers all day long, as the online hub for how they run their business.

We’ll be a dispersed team, but with a center of gravity in San Francisco, with as needed in-person meetups. Comp will include competitive pay, substantial equity, and the usual benefits.

To thrive in this role, you:

  • Describe yourself as resilient, humble, and intellectually curious.
  • Have a knack for simple, extensible, and scalable design
  • Have a strong sense of user-centered interaction and architecture in designing workflows
  • Have a track record of delivering successful b2b experiences
  • Well versed with Material.io or another component-based design system
  • Are results-oriented and have a bias towards action.
  • Have 5+ years of track record delivering successful products.
  • Are excited to work in Food, on B2B platforms, or both!

The Team and Culture

This is not our first rodeo. We understand that innovation and moving fast can be done without chaos. Discipline and drive to achieve doesn’t mean unsustainable burnout. As part of the early team, you’ll help shape the culture of the company, centered around intellectual curiosity, pragmatic action, and collaborative attitudes.

We also care about making the world a better place! As an industry, food is one of the areas where we can help create a more sustainable future for the world.

Our vision for our workplace is clear: we will be a place where a diverse mix of talented people want to come, stay and do their best work. Diversity, equity and inclusion are fundamental to how we think about growing our team and working together as one. We are creating a respectful environment where we can learn from and celebrate each others’ differences.
